Jump aboard the BRING HOME Express
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
The DC 9/12 Rally has come and gone. It delivered a loud shout of "No More!" and yet "More" keeps on coming.
Protests and rallies are important and they should continue like the Oct 17th "Can You Hear Us Now?" local media protests, but they are not solution at the end of the day because they only serve as a blip on the screen for a day two leaving the energy put into them to slowly fade away.
Efforts need to be more concrete moving forward, put toward advancing particular goals that will have a clear impact on our situation. The PRECINCT STRATEGY and AUDIT THE FED are two worthy causes that come to mind.
Long term, I'm an advocate of BRING HOME THE POLITICIANS which calls for relocating our US Representatives & Senators to our City Halls/Courthouses to securely telecommute for no less than 75% of their terms while WE SURROUND THEM.
Art. 1, Sec. 4 of the US Constitution requires US Congress to meet at least ONCE per year as do many state constitutions which opens the door for BRING HOME's implementation.
With the competition between challengers looking to take on incumbent seats in State and US elections next year, BRING HOME is a great way to allow these candidates to show they stand for reform. Of course, this can't start until January 2010.
In the meantime, I recommend you and your 912 group consider taking part in BRING HOME THE CITY COUNCIL POLITICIANS which is a local version of that calls for City Councils to hold half of their meetings through telecommuting because it's 1) Cost Effective, 2) Increases Participation by Citizens, 3) Environmentally Friendly, & 4) Serves as a Reality Check that the days of tax & spend are now over.
You can get this started right now in your current city council election or as a citizen initiative. Here in Greensboro, NC we're holding a rally this Saturday (October 3rd) to promote this idea and will have a City Council candidate as a speaker along with seminar on how to implement this is neighboring towns.
And speaking of towns, they are the best place to start this because of the small population which makes collecting the mandatory 20-25% of signatures equal to votes cast in the last municipal election that much easier and even this will be easier than years past because 2009 has seen very low voter turnout across the country for municipal races.
Start passing this in the small towns and encircle the larger cities in a bottom up blitz to counter the current centralization push coming out of the capitals.
You can start today by getting your city or town's municipal code for the procedures to start implementing this. You'll find links and resources on our site http://bringhomethepoliticians by clicking on your state's CITY COUNCIL section.
Rain, sleet, and snow can impede turnout for a rally or protest, but citizens pursuing concrete changes to our system of government from bottom to top can weather any storm.

End the GREEN Flat Tax
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
There is an idea currently under consideration in the City of Greensboro, North Carolina requiring all new home builders to plant at least ONE tree on their property.
To me, this seems quite unfair and not for the reason you might think.
Some people simply are not capable of high levels of environmental activity and commitment.
These people can only be referred to as POOR environmentalists.
And as we've all been told repeatedly, it is wrong to expect the POOR (environmentalists) to do their fair share despite the appearance of them being fully able bodied and capable of doing the task at hand.
Not everyone can be Al Gore, but as a result of sheer luck or lottery of life, these RICH (environmentalists) find themselves in a situation where they can do so much more for our planet with their exuberant enthusiasm for "Going GREEN"
Therefore, it only stands to reason that promoting ideas like this GREEN "flat tax" with everyone doing their equal share is nothing short of unjust.
The only fair and compassionate thing to do is to require the RICH (environmentalists) to plant extra trees on their property to accommodate for the entire population.
It works out well given that the highest and mightiest RICH (environmentalists) also tend to be swimming in financial success as a result of their celebrity careers, book revenues, and well timed investments in government funded alternative energies.
This is the only empathetic thing to do and I'm sure that the RICH (environmentalists) will be more than happy to do their part no matter how much is continually taken from them (whoops), I mean asked of them.

Prisons + Tshirts = Jobs
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
The following is a comment I posted to a California newspaper's online Op-Ed complaining that the idea being considered to release 27,000 low risk and elderly prisoners was being unfairly opposed citing that just because the state has a 70% recidivism rate and high unemployment doesn't mean their presence among law abiding citizens is a recipe for disaster:
I'm a former Californian (SF Bay Area) and you're missing a GOLDEN opportunity.
California doesn't have jobs or money, so why not setup a voluntary program where these same 27,000 low risk inmates can choose to serve out there term working in retrofitted prisons doing the same $.30 an hour work the Chinese are doing making tshirts, etc. with the profits going to pay for their incarceration and any money spilling over being set aside for them when they are released and/or going toward teacher merit pay increases.
You also save money because with a steady 5 day, 40 hour work week, these voluntary prisoners are getting the same job training in house instead of as a separate program.
Will they get these same jobs on the outside? Likely not, but how many people work at their first job? I haven't pushed a mop and bucket in almost ten years.
This will still mean jobs for normal citizens because a tshirt can't simply be made in one place:
1) The cotton must first be grown
2) then it's shipped to a mill (or prison in this case) for spinning into fabric
3) the fabric is then cut to patterns and sewn
4) finishing of labels, tags, screen printing, and embroidery is added
5) tshirt is packaged and shipped to a distribution center or direct to a retail location.
There are too many steps to keep in one location which is why jobs flooded to China en masse because it wasn't cost effective to do a few of the steps here and the rest over there.
Even if ALL steps are done within prisons, you still need local shipping/packaging/freight companies to deliver these products and there's an entire set of logistics contractors that go along with supporting that setup alone which equals.....JOBS!!!
Work smarter, not harder California. You just may be worth living in again some day.

The Immigration Divide and This Chick I knew in Middle School
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
To clarify, when I use the term "Chick" I really mean to say "Female American."
With that resolved, it's time to fix yet another issue with a story of my own.
Growing up in California I had a friend for many years until we both went to the same Middle School and got all sorts of screwed up over this girl named "Susan."
It's your typical story of "Boy meets Girl", "No, I met her first", "Who cares, she likes me better", "Yeah, right I'm the one she wants"....
Throw in a healthy dose of teenage hormones and you get a falling out among friends.
We didn't talk for a few years, which wasn't difficult given I'd moved out of state, and we later started hanging out again when I moved back for college.
Things were cool and "Susan" never came up as a subject. And then one day she randomly called looking to catch up after so many years and next thing you know the Cold War was on without missing a beat.
The foundation our friendship was rebuilt on proved to be no stronger than basil wood in a hurricane and things detiorated yet again and we haven't spoken in years.
Now, friends from childhood don't always end up to be friends in adulthood, but "Susan" proved to be the major dividing issue.
I tell you this, because this is very similar to the immigration debate that's going to be reemerging its ugly head soon.
And it's likely to create a large fracture through a relatively united coalition of libertarians, conservatives, republicans, and conservative democrats that are vital to derailing the current mega government's power grab.
Lesson Learned #1: Ignoring problems and just assuming they'll go away is a recipe for disaster.
-Immigration has to be figured out now before the heat gets turned up on this issue in the next few months to avoid the afore mentioned fracturing.
Lesson Learned #2: Neither of us ended up with "Susan" in the end meaning we fought ultimately over nothing.
-Neither "The Wall" or "Amnesty" are the solution, otherwise the debate wouldn't be so furious.
The solution therefore is to stop with the DEFENSIVE plans of Walls, Amnesty, Mass Deportation, etc. and go on the OFFENSIVE to solve the root cause of the immigration problem which is Mexico's horrendous economy.
As it stands, every major industry in Mexico from oil to telecommunications is stagnantly underperforming due to the fact they are each run as a monopoly divided amongst a half dozen of very powerful families South of the Border.
If the US were to use its leverage to break up these obstructive groups, it would open the flood gates to competition which in turn opens the doors to job creation.
More jobs in Mexico means less of a need to head North, dramatically slowing illegal immigration.
For those currently in this country without proper documentation, a keen eye for entrepreneurial opportunity fueled with their bank roll of US Dollars and experience in capitalism here in the States will return many illegals to their native soil in search of fortune and fame.
This is a solution where everybody wins. Suddenly, those calling for "Amnesty" become the insensitive ones for not wanting to see Mexico lifted to its true potential.
And this is how we finally put this issue to bed once and for all. I'm sure "Susan" would approve.

912 Movement in Need of a Good Fullback
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
There are a lot of great ideas being circulated ranging from Term Limits to Flat Tax and all roads in between.
The problem is that it’s quite difficult to imagine these ideas being possible to implement given that insane economy killing legislation continues to barrel through DC with no where near the opposition it deserves, let alone any genuine effort at reform.
Essentially, an idea like Term Limits is the Running Back continually having the ball hiked to him only to be thrown for lost yardage by a very formidable defensive line.
These ideas need a means with which to make it to that first down marker let alone the end zone. The perfect Fullback for this job of busting open a whole right up the gut is none other than “Bring Home The Politicians”
Yes, this is the idea I’ve been championing for some time which makes my endorsement a given, but that doesn’t mean I’m wrong.
“Bring Home” will shut down the smoky back rooms that keep getting in the way of fixing problems with solid reforms once and for all.
It only applies to US and State Congresses with Governors, Treasurers, Supreme Courts, and so on staying in their current location.
“Bring Home” doesn’t require any Amendment to the US Constitution, in fact, I was surprised to learn that our Founders mandated that Congress meet only ONCE per year in the Capitol.
It’s something that can be implemented on the state level first (Yes, I’m talking about you Texas) and work its way up the federal ladder.
So in honor of Billy Mays, here’s the pitch:
PREAMBLE
“We, hereby, demand and will pursue the relocation of all US Representatives and Senators to spend no less than 75% of their time in elected office in our State Capitols to telecommute via secured phone, fax, email, and web conference with their federal counterparts.
On the Local level, State Representatives and Senators will be relocated to spend no less than 75% of their time in elected office in the City Halls or Court Houses of our Districts to likewise telecommute with their state counterparts.
This will essentially “embed” politicians among the people they’re supposed to represent allowing them to always be informed with our communities’ positions on each issue and be within close reach to voice our opposition when necessary.
BENEFITS:
Restores Balance of Power - Citizens are put back in charge of this country.
Nonpartisan - This plan favors no political party since all need to be reigned in.
Anti-Lobbying - Lobbyists spend most of their budget on travel expenses.
Reduce Corruption - Citizens/Local Media resume their role as government watch dog.
Cost Effective - The cost of upgrading state and local facilities for this plan is dwarfed by the savings from stopping out of control government spending.
National Security - Any natural disaster or assault on DC would be far less catastrophic because it would be taking down only one server on a grid of 51.”
If you think this is a good idea, by all means go to our site and sign our petition, download a flyer, and tell your talk radio station about us.
“But wait, there’s MORE!”
We can do a YouTube promo video for your upcoming tea parties, 912 rallies, meetings, etc.
Turnaround is just a few days and we’ll send you the EMBED CODE for the video to put on your sites/blogs and URL CODE to put on forums across the net.
You just have to contact us through our site with your events:
1) Title
2) Date
3) Time
4) Location
5) Website (if any)
All this at absolutely NO COST.

Capping Cap & Trade with Helium-3
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
Seen through the eyes of a Kung Fu Master (which I am not) the approach to opposing “Cap & Tax” is very flawed.
The Cap & Trade legislation bound for the Senate is the result of decades of yellow journalism, movies, tv, radio, and video games. This is a behemoth amount of momentum that, even if blocked now, will resurface again and again.
So, the best strategy is not to stand in the way of this propoganda machine, but to use this same environmental tsunami to expose it’s false masters.
Allow me to digress for a moment to give you the insight into the “other side” you’ll need to finally expose this myth. Prepare to roll your eyes, but I assure you it’s worth it to read on to the end.
I am a 29 year old vegetarian, former hemp clothing store owning, San Francisco Bay Area Native now living in NC.
I was in the “hemp game” (not to be confused with marijuana which is the narcotic form of the plant) from 2002-2006.
I managed to convince my parents that the college and graduate school money set aside would be better spent on a business since the “School of Hard Knocks” is as good as a college education.
The irony of hearing pot jokes left and right for the next four years is that I had given up such things because I was very serious about being both successful and advancing the cause of industrial hemp.
And when I say serious, I mean I did tons of research, went out of my way to get a hold of such exotic items as hemp plastic, hemp concrete, and even made the 8′ x 3′ store sign out of hemp particle board.
To summarize, I saw the green wave coming, and being a good little capitalist tried to ride the wave, but I was too early and by the time it showed up I was too “burned out” by the reality of GREEN.
Saying that I changed my views along the way isn’t accurate. It’s better said that vague assumptions had been replaced with solid education over time.
There isn’t enough time between now and the Senate vote for masses of people and politicians to have all those little epiphanies necessary to stop this legislation.
So, let me tell you about the “nail in the coffin” news that did far more to break me from the green slumber than the realization that hemp isn’t the strongest natural fiber in the world (it’s flax), and so on.
It’s called Helium-3 and you owe it to yourself to watch AT LEAST the first minute and a half of the video link below.
Helium-3 is found in abundance on all orbiting bodies that don’t contain an atmosphere such as the moon.
One metric ton of this stuff can power New York City for one year (25 tons for the entire US annually). The “Kung Fu” aspect of it is that it produces absolutely NO CARBON EMISSIONS meaning that even if carbon were a threat to the climate, this fuel source solves for their entire argument for CAP & TAX.
“On the Moon? We don’t have time for Sci-Fi!” The reality is just the opposite because the US Taxpayer has been footing the bill to the tune of BILLION$ on Helium-3 research for over a decade.
NASA’s current ORION Project which goes back to the moon in a few years has Helium-3 as a fundamental mission objective.
You’d also be surprised to know that we have a successful test reactor in Madison, WI and that former astronaut and former New Mexico Senator (R) Harrison Schmidt is a lead proponent (watch the video and you’ll learn a whole lot more).
This means we’ll have everything setup to solve our energy/climate issues right around the same time Cap & Tax is supposed to finally yield improvements to our climate after years of wreckless taxation.
So, instead of phoning/emailing your Senator telling them to “Vote NO! Because we can’t afford it!!!”, you can now tell them “Vote NO! Because we can’t afford it AND we already have a solution called Helium-3 and if you haven’t heard of it you better look it up!!!”
The same’ol arguments that those opposed to CAP & TAX are only worried about their pocket books and not their children’s future goes right out the door when Helium-3 is brought into the picture.

Al Capone’s Guide To Dealing with North Korea and US Politicians
Michael Norbury
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
These days, you have to split your focus between serious (insane!) issues both foreign and domestic.
I can’t decide which is bothering me more at the moment, an emboldened North Korea getting ready to fire a nuke at the beach I spent my vacation boogie boarding on when I was 7 or a US government that seems to think the only spending worth curtailing is the funding for the very missile defense systems that would protect that beach.
Look no further than Al Capone for the answer, the all time greatest gangster. He murdered, stole, smuggled, extorted, you name it. He was never caught for any of it. His downfall came from INCOME TAX EVASION of all things.
And that’s how you put the muzzle on North Korea.
You can shoot down every missile he sends your way, but you’ll never get Kim Jung Il on nukes, he’s got that base too well covered with any attempt at impeding him used as a propaganda tool to prepare his disparaged and brainwashed people for sacrificial war (See the National Geographic Documentary: “Inside North Korea”-2007).
North Korea’s Achilles’ Heal is it’s prison camps; it hosting the world’s largest collection. It’s easy to spin foreign military incursion as an assault on DPRK from inside Pyongyang, but how well could he rally his people against accusations of work camps where many of them have family members toiling away for the smallest of offenses?
Doing this isn’t as simple as posting stories on a blog, although the Communist nation does have it’s own website: http://www.korea-dpr.com/
You have to think of it through the prism of 1950’s technology, short wave radio signals and the like either covertly smuggled in or air dropped would be the most peaceful and effective way to begin putting pressure on the “Little Man of the North” to start behaving.
China and Russia’s true role in this remains to be seen, but I’m sure they have their own “INCOME TAX” vulnerabilities that can be pressed despite their massive US debt holdings.
Then there’s our state and federal congresses.
They don’t fit the brutal Al Capone/North Korea mold, but given the escalating deficit, they can be fingered as thieves. Tea Party Protests, or even elections, won’t do much at this rate. If the current crop of politicians are so easily bought and sold then logic demands that you must financially pressure their paymasters. A good place to start is http://www.opensecrets.org/index.php (you’ll have to do your own research
for the state levels).
They list just about every detail you’d want to know especially their largest donors.
Most politicians come from successful families with their own businesses and law firms, and boycotts targeting these institutions would also be very effective in sending the message that: “Hey! We finally found a way to get to you guys and will continue to do so until you yield!”
In the case of dealing with media institutions like NBC, MSNBC, and now new to the roster ABC, the best course of action is to go directly after their advertisers both local and national (See previous post: “Big Government Continues its March, Now onto an ABC Station near You“).
These are short term solutions to only stem a growing tide. But more on that coming soon.
Video Title: “National Debt“
Big Government Continues its March, Now onto an ABC Station near You
By Michael Norbury
http://bringhomethepoliticians.com
It’s disturbing, but not a surprise since there was little protest over the de facto takeover of GE properties MSNBC and NBC by the current government. In a way, we’ve invited it by not properly standing up to it.
There’s talk of protesting outside local ABC affiliates, but I’ve pursued a different course of action and gone directly to the stations advertisers with both a plea and a promise. After sending out the emails, I then contacted the competitor FOX, CBS, and NBC affiliates with a copy of the letter along with the business names and emails informing them that now might be a good time to drop these advertisers a line and see if they want to switch/increase their advertising with their station instead.
“Why contact CBS & NBC?,” you say. Well, local affiliates are a little freer than their national parents and it also serves as a warning to those who dare follow suit.
Granted, my own personal experience laid out in the below email is a unique situation, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from:
1) Copy/pasting this email or starting your own, inserting the names of your local ABC affiliate along with your own reasons and convictions for not allowing this insult to freedom of the press to air.
2) Finding the advertiser list or following the links to the online advertisers’ contact info and then sending them your letter.
3) Forwarding your letter along with the names and emails of the businesses you just contacted to your local ABC affiliate’s competitors.
See Email Below:

SUBJECT: You advertise on WXLV ABC45
I’m contacting you in hopes that you can persuade WXLV ABC45 NOT to air an upcoming June 24th ABC News broadcast of a one sided 30 minute infomercial for universal healthcare.
This form of healthcare, as opposed to one modeled after car insurance, is nothing short of a threat to the life of my still relatively young mother, an inspirational woman who, despite loosing her arm to the disease back in 1999, has survived 5 bouts of cancer going back to 1985 despite being told by doctors that she had little chance of survival on more than one occasion.
She currently takes a special shot that costs $2000 per month that thankfully we can afford. Under universal (rationed) care she would fall into the category of “too sick to treat” and, despite having the money to pay for this expensive treatment, would be refused care and would likely be dead within a year.
I implore you to demand that WXLV ABC45 not air this partisan broadcast, and it might also serve as free advertising for your company.
You can choose to disregard this request thinking this issue will simply fade away.
Of course, given the incredible set of circumstances my family faces, don’t be surprised if I show up at your place of business during peak traffic hours with my mother so that you, the owner, can personally tell her after years of miraculous fighting, why you think it’s a good idea for the government to now decide when it’s time for her to die.
Sincerely,
Michael Norbury
